how hard of a swap would this be? also anyone ever done this? how much money would i be looking at? would $5000 cover it? also would the gauge cluster work with the swap? my buddy is looking into doing his in a few weeks, and he has me hooked. all info is greatly appreciated.

 

i have looked at putting a diesel into a 1/2 ton dodge truck and i believe that the axels would need to be changed to handle the weight with that being said i do not believe that the control arm mounts are not in the same place so this was the reason i stopped the swap i was looking at doing

What year Dodge and 2wd or 4wd?

 

I am in the process of doing this with a 96 reg cab short bed 4x4, the front axle was a direct swap to a dana 60, the rear axle perches have to be cut off and moved out some.

 

You could just put a 4bt in it. I dont thank you would have to swap axles then. Pluse its not as big ofcourse so you would have less to modify. Im putin a 4bt in my 85 1/2 ton dodge 4x4. Weighs about as much as a big block v8.
