rotary or p-pump???

I don't understand. If all he wants 300-350 hp for a DD/tow rig (and will probably doesn't need to run over 3k RPM), what advantage is the P7100 going to give? The VE starts quicker, has more low end torque, has dynamic timing, and fuel mileage is usually a tad bit better with them.
I'm not knocking the p-pump, I searched hard for one, but my truck will eventually be at 5-600hp; it suits my goals better.

either will get you what you need and I think you can get the p pump to start just as good as the ve
its all in the heads before I had my head gasket go out on my p pump it would start hard the guy that did my head work really understood how to grind valves on a diesel and now it starts as good or better than our 91 ve

It's a matter of which one you can find easier and cheaper but my $.02 is the P-pump for one simple reason, no matter what your initial plans are you will only be happy with it for so long. I originally wanted to level out around 400 HP and had no intention of going higher, now that I dynoed at 396 my new goal is 550, thankfully my gf has kept me in line and made me focus on the drag truck. I'm not going higher on the screw cab, but that doesn't mean I don't want to.
