we do not have emissions testing here in FL I know for the legality of it putting an older motor in a newer truck isn't the right way to do things but you know how that goes

IIRC Darren Morrison said that a 47RE will plug and play in a gas to diesel conversion as long as the tranny in it has an RE after it. most gassers had the 46RE i think after 96 or so. but if you could get a tranny computer out of a 96 or 97 12v truck you would be golden then......

The 96/97 trannies don't have computers.
