Just an update. I got tied of brackets breaking with the vacuum pump. I overbuilt it th e last time then it started breaking alternator brackets!!!
so I went electric. This is from a turbo saab I made my own vacuum regulator using a old ford superduty vac pump .works great and has no trouble keeping up

 

the whole thing looks really good, I wish these engines were more available. Did you try to cut your thumb off?. Not to hijack your thread but may I ask how you upload your photos? mine no longer work through Photobucket.
