well I finally made it home from work. Made a little bit of progress. I got the throttle linkage installed, it still needs a tweek or 2, I am not making it too the full throttle stop. Also made a new turbo adapter. Now I need as small a radius 90deg bend I can find for a new downpipe. I will have to shoot the downpipe fwd a bit and then turn it down. I started off with the turbo squared up and the compressor outlet shooting straight fwd, It looked great, but the clearance to the brake booster was too tight. So like some other folks I had to clock the turbo a bit to get clearance.

I was originally planning on making my own turbo header out of stainless steel just for a fun project. But maybe next time. here is a pic of my turbo adapter plate. I can notch out the turbo exh flange and use the existing Kubota studs. Or my choice at least today is too pull the Kubota studs, and countersink my turbo adapter plate for flush grade 8 metric internal wrench screws. I don't think there is enough meat on the turbo to notch the housing for bolt clearance.
Also on the turbo now that it has been clocked , I need to re-do the wastegate actuator mount. I thought I could just re-index the wastegate actuator on the compressor housing, but for some reason it is not that simple. So I will have to make a little wastegate actuator bracket to re-mount the actuator.
Another thing that is scaring me a little is I might have jumped the gun with the accessories, because I might need to share the accessory mounts with engine mounts
and from talking to Rangmar, it looks like I will need to go ahead and get a bobcat oil pan.
It is never over even when it is over its not over.

I finally have a decent accessory drive system made up, at least I hope so. I ended up using the OE jeep PS pump with a remote reservoir conversion, and a new v-drive pulley that is a tiny bit smaller dia. than the serpentine pulley, I tried to get the stock PS pump to work with the new serpentine system, but it just was not happening without switching the whole system to serpentine. If I do another one of these, I am pretty sure I will make an all serpentine system from the start.
I must have had this setup on and off the mock up engine and the installed engine a dozen times. What looks like it will fit on the mock up engine sometimes did not fit under the hood.
I have not run this set up under power yet, but It looks pretty good, and much sturdier than before. Lets hope for the best.
I also got all the materials to make up the Turbo and Vac pump oil lines.
So when I get home from work next month I will try and get the oil lines sorted out, and start on the oilpan mods

Here's the plug. I'm having amp issues with mine, doesn't want to produce enough power. I'm going to take it to the local alternator shop and have it load tested. I only have an issue if I run the A/C on high & cooling fan at the same time (which you have to) and it's worse at night with the lights on.

Hey Kubotaman, Thanks for the link. How is your new truck working out? my Alt has only 3 spade lugs, the one in the link has 4 connections. I will keep searching. Or maybe the plug will fit, and I just won't use the extra wire. How many amps is your alt rated for? and what size wire are you using for your field and output? I think I got a 75 amp unit.
I have to get ready for work: start tomorrow. 30 days in the hole again for me.
When I get home I can get the correct size serp belt for the AC, and start and hopefuly finish the oil pan, and sort out the oil system, and all the sending units, and a tach signal. Then I can start planning the Intercooler and air filter, That sounds like about 3-4 months at my work schedule. So If I finish in September, that will be a year, but I am only home for 6 months a year. I don't know how someone could think they could do one of these from scratch in a month as someone wrote in a post a while back, but hey we all work at our own pace

You work a lot! And there's no way to do one in a month unless that's all you do. My plug has 4 wires I just didn't use the extra. Mine is 70amp, I'm afraid because it's a cheap aftermarket model it won't produce what they claim. I'll let you know what I find out. New truck is up and running, far better power and torque than my IDI truck! I'm still tuning and playing with it, right now I can't get it to stop producing heavy black smoke.

On your alternator, Do you think you are spinning it fast enough??? I have one of those little cheap Photo tach's I got from Harbor Freight. it works with a reflective sticker. you could use one of those and see what your real rpm's are on your alt, or I guess you could do the math on it.
I have not looked at the crank drive pulley on the Isuzu NPR 3.9L that my alt is spec'd for , I would think that I am underdriving it from OE Isuzu speed, as I am running it off the stock Kubota Pulley, and the alt pulley is pretty big. Like I said If I do another one of these I am pretty sure I will go serpentine belt all the way like you did.

a quick question about governor springs again. I am getting about 3000 rpm from my current modified spring.
Will a stiffer spring give more rpm for the same speed control arm movement that a lighter spring will give.
Not sure if that made sense. I know the stiffer spring gives more rpm, but does it only come on at full throttle so to speak. or if you only move the control arm say 1" will a stiffer spring give more rpm than a soft spring at the same distance moved???
