Default Swapping '96 F150 Body on 1991 W350 Dodge Cummins frame

Well guys, bought a 1991 Dodge W350 4x4 5 speed Cummins with 160,000 miles on it for 2 grand!! The only thing is that it has no body on it... So I was going to swap a Cummins into my 96 Ford F150, but it is a half ton frame. So I was thinking and now I'm going to put the Ford body on the Dodge frame. So then I would have a 1 ton frame and the very clean F150 body that I have on top of that!! Has any body done this before? If so, any tips on making the body mounts? We have some ideas that should work.. I would just like some input from some one else . Or is this a first???

I'll post pictures as I go along with this and I hope this is in the right section... Lol.. Thanks guys!

Sounds like a plan. I would check with your states DMV on how to handle this or you could just register as the 96 f150. Every state is different. Good luck with it and let's see some pix!!!

Ok well the truck is in my garage and I have done a little work on it. But here she is, he 1991 Dodge W350 5 speed Cummins Turbo Diesel with 160,000 miles!

Right now I'm working on removing the rust from the rear of the frame, replacing brake lines, and removing wiring harness. After that is done, it is time to rip apart the Ford!

Puttin the motor and trans in the F150 would probably be easier, just sayin.

Well I don't know. I would have boxed the frame, made custom motor mounts, and brace the front of the frame of a solid axle swap. Right now it is 2 wheel drive too, and I would also like the 1 ton frame and not the 1/2 ton. But it is coming along!

Well I started to get rid of the rust on the frame, I got half of it done today and I will finish it tomorrow... It's not the best but it will do. I still have to chop the back left of the frame off and weld in a new piece of frame because that part is completely shot. Other than that, the frame is not really rusted all the way through... 99% of the rust is surface rust, there are only a few spots where it is rusted all the way through. So here is the right rear of the frame:

Still have that L shaped piece of metal to cut off too. Other than that, it is coming along pretty nicely.

Well I have a quick update, no pictures for tonight... sorry. But tomorrow I'm going to paint the engine red, and valve covers black. I think I might paint a few other things black, but IDK yet. I have also removed a lot of rust off of the frame. I should have some pictures uploaded tomorrow!!

Well guys I've painted the engine! Looks real nice in person, but in these pics it looks kind of orange. It is a nice red in person though . I think it will look real good in a black truck, and when you pop the hood you will have a nice glowing red block!
It's not perfect, and I still had greasy hands when handling the valve covers so that's why they look kinda spotty! But here ya go:
