I have an om617 swapped into an s10 any ways it was having trouble starting when it got hot and i noticed the head gasket bubbling oil out, i did the head gasket last weekend and after i went to start it, it had bad fuel knock i retarded the pump and the knock went away but still didnt like to start when it got hot and it would make it seem like the batteiers were struggling to turn it over but when it cooled down it started right away after a glow plug cycle. Long story short i set my motor at 27* BTDC removed the ip set that put it back on now the truck misses puffs white smoke and makes 1 psi of boost, could my pump be too retarted??? my timing chain was stretched about 5* aswell.
