Default Cummins/ Allison Combo

Allison Stand alone controllers now available!!

Controlling the Allison 1000 has been a monumental task, but is now available only at Destroked. Now you can have an Allison in any vehicle you desire. With our kit you will be able to use a standard Allison TCM, along with our XFC and harness, and be able to take control of your transmission. In combination with our adapter plates we can help you get the right combination for your vehicle. For instance, want to replace your 48re in your Dodge truck? Not a problem! We build the adapters to mate the commonrail Cummins to the common GM bell housing Allison found in the Duramax truck. We have Transfer case adapters that will allow you to keep your stock transfer case. We will be adding a lot of options to this in the near future. Check out the parts page for more details.

why would you want to do this though? For the price of a the conversion, you can have a built dodge transmission, and honestly, the 47rh/re 48re has proved to be stronger than a built ally, look at Buck Spruills nine second 4wd dmax, he runs a suncoast dodge tranny. He couldn't keep an allison in. But I guess if you're going for novelty factor than go ahead.

Look at the hundreds who race and pull with perfectly fine Suncoast and ATS Allison's. Nasty Girls 1200hp was mated to a Suncoast Allison. This information isnt correct seeing as how over 95% of the DMAX's in the racing and pulling community use ATS or Suncoast Allison's that work just fine. The builder sure makes a heck of a difference.

Well, have we seen Nasty Girl on the track making nine second 4wd passes? No, have there been any 4wd ally's that fast? nope. The only other allison that has gone as fast as bucks is Dirtymax, and they are 2wd. But really, for the price of the swap, why not just build up your current transmission?

Probably because the DMAX community is still in the process of getting there and not far off. I think Pat and Chris are doing a fine job in the mid 10's and are well on their way to 9's. Rest assured that Allison has proven itself and the community responds by the numbers. Doesnt matter how fast it will go and whether its 4X4 or not but how much power it will hold. Its doing just fine by the numbers. 9 seconds or faster shouldnt be running automatics anyway.

Well the only "manual" that can hold this kind of torque is a liberty, bruno, lenco, and that is what is holding many back is the price of that particular trans. I thought I heard that the weight of the hard parts of the tranny are what were causing problems though. I don't care, I don't need an ally.

So, does this Allison have air brakes and a neutral only? Sorry, had to say it.

Exactly, but when you can afford to build 8 and 7 second trucks you can afford the big boy trannies. Correct again...the greater the rotating mass the harder it is to hold together. The Allison probably isnt going to get a whole lot better than Chris Calkins 9.875sec/139.41mph run "reliably", but for the money that will be spent annually on refreshes it would be more cost effective to go with a Liberty, Bruno, or Lenco. Someone does need/want an Cummins/Allison combo and thats what this thread is for.
