Default 6-BT SAE #2 Flywheel Housing & Clutch Q's

I have a 5.9 liter Cummins 6-BT out of a ' 96 Ram 350 to retro into a '49 Brill "Pusher" Bus Conversion Project, and need to locate the SAE#2 Flywheel, Flywheel housing, and Clutch assembly in hope of trading what I have to someone having sourced their 6-BT from one of the several Parcel Van applications I've heard harbors them originally...like Ford, Chevrolet, and/or Grummen Parcel Vans/Trucks?

Question #1: What specific vehicle application(s) employed the use of a 6-BT and SAE #2 Flywheel Housing Adapter, etc., and included use of an *Air Brake System?

Question #2: Will my new Starter (installed for Bench Testing) work with the swapped-in SAE #2 Flywheel Housing/Components?

Question #3: Is the Air Brake System Compressor* a bolt-on/direct-swap with this '96 Cummins 6-BT 12 Valve Front Cover?

*The originally installed Flywheel Housing Adapter I have employed use of the '96 yr.mo. 47 RE Automatic and "Flex-Plate" where I'll be using SAE #2 with a Manual Transmission/Clutch, and the Air-Brake System Compressor needs to mount where the Power Steering Pump and Vacuume pump (neither of-which I need) do on the Front Timing Cover.

I've searched but haven't found anyone doing such a conversion using SAE #2 Flywheel Housing Components...any help is greatly appreciated, thank you, and Merry Christmas!

Default SAE #2 to cummins 6BT

My 96 freightliner FL70 with the mechanical 5.9L 6BT came with the #2 SAE bellhousing and clutch. It also has air brakes. I am going to swap in either an L10 or 8.3 cummins, so i would be willing to sell all of the parts you need. Just PM me. yes the air compressor bolts in place of the vacuum and power steering pump. there is a power steering pump mounted on the rear of my air compressor in my freightliner, it is a hydraulic pump with a remote reservoir.

@ "BIG MURF"

I'll consider that, thank You!

I'd really rather TRADE the stuff I have for the stuff I need ~ so it's kinda too-bad (for Me at least ; ) that You're not looking to KEEP your 5.9 and retro a 47RE, etc., into Your Truck.

I bought an SAE#2 Flywheel Housing from Ebay that I'm not sure will work afterall. It arrived with a CRACK in it, and though it's repairable for being Aluminum, fixing it isn't going to be as cheap as it originally appeared for the extent of welding and machiening required for being cracked all the way through one of the Transmission Adapter Mounting Holes.

I should've asked or otherwise specified that I wanted one made of Cast Iron, but I didn't figure anything "Heavy Duty SAE #2" would BE Aluminum...it looked like Cast Iron in the Ebay photo : /

The "Seller" wouldn't trade it out or take it back, and despite that he did kick-back $75 bucks toward getting it repaired I still have what amounts to being a $200 dollar PILE OF JUNK : Z

It was salvaged from an industrial "Stationary" application, so the "Flywheel" It came with is rather a solid "Flex-Plate" that drove a coupling into a Generator or "Pump" or whatever...the Starter they "threw-in" didn't work at all, so I took it apart to try fixing it ~ only to find it's value barely that of a "Core" : ?

Needless to say, the project is on-hold 'till I can recover from this and a a few OTHER "setbacks".
