This is what I have. Laser cut 1/4 steel, formed in a CNC press brake and welded by me. My conversion cross-member uses new O.E. Dodge 3RD Gen insulators and castings. They are far superior to the 1ST Gen style insulators in strength and vibration insulation. The polyurethane insulators are stiff and not nearly as strong, even if you put two or three on each side.

Just bought a 1988 Chevy 3500 with a 19 ft. Hodges hauler bed on it and a 454 Gasser.

Where is the best place to find info on a diesel conversion for the 1988 body style, are there pre fabbed motor mounts?

Any suggestions? Guesstimate on price for the conversion?

Thanks

there are some good outfits making conversion parts. I have done afew with parts from autoworld in great falls mt. there are other shops on here as well. the best advice is do the homework. make some calls and listen to there advise; who ever you go with. personally the best auto is the allison tranny. ken is going to use it in his cummins diesel dragster. the adapter plate is nice.

Default 09 Silverado CTD Conversion

Hey there, I am new to the Cummins conversion world. I want to put a 03-07 common rail cummins in my 09 Silverado. Currently the truck is a half ton with a 5.3L V8. I want to find a 3/4 ton frame and let the fun begin. I need a lot of advice and help as to what I will be getting myself into. Parts? Fab work? Let me know guys!

Thanks,
Andrew

with that truck being so new you probably wont find hardly any info on it. just be prepared to throw your wallet down BIGTIME on a project like that with everything still being so new. and make sure you check your smog regulations you probably wont be able to put an older engine in your new truck
