I checked my wiring, everything looks good. I've been driving my truck over the holidays and it will work fine for a while then act up again. It will begin to idle rough, and whith the truck in park, I idle it up with my throttle and it will idle up and down itself. Then it will idle smooth for a bit. It is surging once in a while while I'm driving it too. Anymore ideas???

did ever get the codes from the shop you took it to? A friend of mine has a OBS 7.3 in the shop now that is doing something almost exactly like this and its a bad injector.

I just got back from the shop, and they are not open today. I checked the little round screen on the FBR. It's about 1/4 inch round or so. It was pretty dirty. I checked it everytime I go under the hood to fiddle. Is there another screen?

My oil cooler is leaking when it is really cold out and I don't have it plugged in. It will pump a bit of oil out then stop. Could this be causing the trouble?

My oil smells fine. I just changed it 100 miles ago. I'm using 0W40 synthetic.

Does it leak while your cranking on it or just while its sitting. That more than likely has nothing to do with it. You really just need to get the codes, when you get your codes from the shop ask them if they did a buzz test and a cylinder contribution test and let us know. Those two tests will tell you if you have any bad injectors.

Sorry about all the questions. I just can't stand sitting and waiting. My shop won't be open till Wednesday. I'lltry and find one open to code it, but probably not. Thanks for all the help guys!!!

It will leak for about 30 seconds or so once it fires up. I haven't noticed it leaking afterthat. Could it be sucking air into the oil system causing air make it misfire or something?

its fine we all understand. Just have them do those two tests on your truck, it will tell you if a injectors or injectors are bad and which ones. By what your are explaining it sounds like a injector or two may be gone. How mechanically inclined are you? If you want you can pull the valve cover, start the truck and when the truck starts acting up (the weird idle) look at all the injector oil spouts and see if they are dis charging oil. WARNING it will be messy and have oil every where, just make sure your looking at the spouts when the truck starts ideling weird. If you do this just post up here what you saw, other than that just find a shop or wait till wednesday and get those test's ran.

I took my truck to the shop today and left it there. They are going to call if they find something. I will let you know what they come up with.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Well, the shop called. They switched my IPR valve back to my old one, and refunded my money. While they had my fuel filter housing off, they replaced a couple of fuel lines that were worn and cracked. They said that they did not notice them leaking. They then took my truck for a couple of test drives, and nothing went wrong. The left it running in the yard for about 1.5 hours and then took it for another drive. They had no problems at all. They ran the codes and nothing popped up at all. They said they would test drive it again in the morning and let me know. Do you think that the cracked up fuel lines could have been sucking air???
