Question 98 camshaft seal replacement

Does anyone have a walk through of the steps to replace the camshaft seal gasket? I know you have to remove almost everything on the drivers side of the engine, the pump is the only scary part. Any help?

Its called the cam follower cover, close enough. You need to pull the pump. And make sure it seals up before putting the pump back on. Mine refused and kept spitting the gasket back out so I ended up installing a billet plate from Haisley......... Very frustrating....

No on the walk through? I know all of the stuff on the drivers side needs to come off but the pump is my biggest concern. Any ideas?

just going to have to pin the pump and pin the cam that way you dont loose time on it, use a couple long extensions and a swivel to get to the bottom inside pump nut after taking the oil line off other then that pretty straight forward

put motor at TDC, you can find TDC with the timing pin, located on the right side of the pump, once you have located TDC lock the pump, you will have to remove front cover and use a gear puller to pull the gear off or it might just be bolted on.

once everything is taken off, DO NOT ROTATE ENGINE!

take off pump, unscrew the 6 bolts that are directly in the middle of the tappet cover (10mm) remove old gasket (it is a one peice rubber gasket) put new one on, make sure that it is put on correctly, there is a slit that the cover goes into, put everything back together.
