Default 04.5 cr cummins dead pedal

The truck idles great but has a dead pedal and throws apps codes. Replaced tps sensor and still no relief. On live data OBD II the tps reads 0 all of the time. If you play with it sometimes you can get the truck to rev a little but the tps on the live data still doesn't come off of 0. I have a Map sensor ordered just as a stab in the dark. A new computer is $2000 and I think that is my next step. Any input before I replace the computer would be greatly appreciated.

Recalibrating the apps sensor won't work either.

I feel your pain... I have a 99 cummins throwing a p1689 which is no communication between the ecu and the IP... I have had the ECU rebuilt, replaced the IP and replaced the wiring and I am still getting the code

I read in a different forum where a guy took his '04 which was still under warranty to the dealer and they kept replacing sensors as well as the ecu at their expense because his truck had a dead pedal... only to tell him in the end that it was a wiring issue... I would try looking at the wiring harness and see if you can find a shorted wire or a bad ground somewhere... good luck

I checked out all of the wiring last night and couldn't find a problem. Checked continuity from sensor to ecm and checked for ground or power where it shouldn't be but no findings. I switched back to my old sensor today and found that my old sensor has the same part number as the new one but a different voltage. The old sensor is working fine now. I will have to assume I had a bad connection somewhere. Not sure though. I did multiple things to try to fix the problem while running the wrong sensor. Time will tell.
