Default cruise control problem

when the truck is driving down the road, i set the cruise and it will work for anywhere from 1-15 miles then truck will start to lose power. I then will try to reset the cruise and it will not set. I can pull over and turn truck off and then restart and will work again and the whole process starts all over. any ideas on what this could be?

If the cruise isn't working properly its loosing speed not power. Another thing that can cause it to slow down is your brake light switch, if it isn't adjusted properly or its broken it will tell the truck to disengage the cruise just like when you press the pedal. Next time it does that pull up on the pedal and reset it that should tell you if that's the problem.

Default cruise control problem

well I tried pulling the petal back and that did not make any changes. Any suggestions on how to check if it is a vaccum leak?

Look at vacuum line that runs to actuator under batt. pretty common batt. acid drips and rotts plastic line kinda hard to get large hands in that area
