First Gen Running Rough and Popping through Air Filter
I need help IDK what just happened to my truck. I got off the interstate and thought it sounded a little louder than usual. It sounded like an exhaust leak but it got louder and louder and when I stopped and popped the hood, it was popping back through the airfilter. My EGT's were staying pretty hot and it feels like its missing. Sounds like maybe a burnt valve or something along those lines.
I think I've determined its the number 1 cylinder, the exhaust manifold stays cool right there. I took the valve cover off and everything is moving like its supposed to. IDK how you can burn a valve in a diesel especially when the EGT's didn't go over 800 on the whole 10 minute trip to school. I didn't hear the valve hit the piston so IDK
I pulled it today and everything up top looks like its in place and moving like its supposed to. Guess Im gonna have to pull the head off and see whats up or try the compression check like Ben said
sorry for the misguidance Jason....
