Question 12v Not starting

Hey there. I have a 95 12v "cab & chassis" i just purchaced. When i looked at the truck the batteries were dead. We hooked up two booster boxes and cranked over the truck. It started but wouldnt idle (it was -2 outside so i figured the truck was cold). i later bought the truck (cheap) and brought it home. I have 2 battery chargers on it.

The truck cranks over, but it wont start. I havent tried estarting fluid. (bad idea on diesels) but im still working in sub-zero temps. I tried priming the Lift pump but i havent had any luck. I dont think its the lift pump because it started for me when i looked at the truck. The fuel shut-off selonoid i have to pull it up manually for it to engage. I also plugged the truck in. The battery gagues just barely comes up for "14" even on boost.

Anyone have any good ideas? This is my 3rd 12v project and i havent had any issues like this before. This truck is completly stock

Do i need more chanking power?

Should i try a quirt of starting fluid?

How do i test the blue wire to the shut-off seluniod?

Should i bleed out the injectors?

Thanks a ton guys.

i would try bleeding the injectors you might have air in the lines. as for the blue wire to the shut off solenoid, it should illuminate +12 on a meter when the key is on.

how long did it sit have you changed the fuel filter is your intake heater working and either take your batteries out and let them trickle charge for a long while or get new ones crack your injector lines to see if your getting fuel there

Hey guys. Trucks running. I primed the system through the lift pump, got 7 or 8 gallons of fuel (truck was low) and bleed out the injectors. got my fuel and its running. The idle is at 500 and just about stalls. anyone have a pic of the low-idle screw?

This should help you out:

Ram Diesel Problems

Also, might be a good time to clean up and adjust your fuel shutdown solenoid:

Plugging the truck in for 3-5 hours will help a lot, and yeah stay away from the starting fluid unless you disconnect the grid heaters.
