Help! 2001 2500 Dodge Cummins Diesel. Started to idle rough, dead pedal and died. Now hard to start and will only run for 30-40 seconds and dies. White smoke from exhaust. Reset apps, changed fuel filter (2X) , checked all battery connections, still same problem. Throws codes 713, 1693.

We have changed fuel filter 2x and added fuel treatment, checked fuel preheater, fuel pressure 13-17 at idle, 10 when pedal pushed down. New fuel delivery switch, new batteries.

This past summer we installed new Raptor fuel pump , v44 pump , camshaft position sensor, throttle sensor.

This is our farm truck-we have done all the work on this, now at local mechanic who is also stumped. We will have it towed back home today and go at it again.......

 

Sounds like the APPS is out of adjustment again (new sensor time) or the VP44 is on the way out.
