They told me it was a flush and I didn't now. I got nervous when the tech at the shop got on the phone trying to find out if the fliud they had was compatible to my truck. he talked to someone and they said it would be fine. After calling the supplier of their oil i called with the actual stock number on the fluid drum and asked chevron what it was because the service center told me it was ATF+4. When i talked to a tech at chevron oil he advised me it was Chevron Synthetic Multipurpose fluid and that is says on the information sheet for the fluid that it is not WARRANTIED for trans. that us +4 So I called back the service center and he basically told me it didn't matter it would not damage the trans

I'd get documentation from Chrysler, Chevron, and the shop that did the work about whether or not the fluid will damage the transmission. But right now, I would get them to change out the filter like they were suppose to, and adjust the bands.

Ok Thanks Alot I already have the documentation and just could not decide whether or not to fight them. the service manager is just telling me that their mistake is not why I am having this trouble and that I don't have a leg to stand on. By the way I did call Dodge and he felt as though it could have caused the damage but he wasn't sure how you could prove it. I just don't want to waste the time and money fighting it if my opinion is wrong,

Fluid in a stock transmission is very important. Stock clutches are designed around a certain spec of friction modifiers that will work properly. Having said that, I don't know that the fluid caused your issue as much as the flush. Its possible some junk got broken loose and is gumming up the valvebody.

If you shift the truck manually how does it shift?

Count your shifts. What gears are you having issues with. What specifically does it do?

The trans is sticking in 1st and you amost always have to feather the pedal to get it to go to 2nd then it what they are calling nuetralling out and slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear after you get up past that it acts fine until you stop and then it all starts over. It is also starting to shudder before it gets into OD. It doesn't change when you shift it manually.

I would really like to see some more info on this and to see if others have had this same problem.

I agree the trans shop did alot wrong with your truck. It happened to me before with my 01. I belive in flushing trans. but it has to be done right. You have to do it once a year and you have to change the FILTER! It sounds as thou your shift solenoids and lockup solenoid are dirty. They are not too expensive and should solve you problem. Being the pan has to be dropped, bring it to a good shop this time, have the put the solenoids in and flush/add new filter and you should be good as new. The fluid they put in would make your trans slip if anything. ATF+4 has a friction modifier in it. Same with AMSOIL. DEx/Merc does not. Id start with the solenoids.
