Default ElectricKickle problem

when I start up and run for a bit, the meter reads 16 volts for a bit. After it warms, it doesn't seem to happen anymore. I have smelled warm wires but failed to find one each time I go to look for it I have to pull over and then it goes back to 12 volts and cools before I can find a hot wire.

I actually saw a small amount of smoke below the dashboard the other night when I turned on the flashlight while driving.

That's the big scary problem I am having right now and I am on my way over my buddy's house to see if we can troubleshoot it right now.

You are correct, it originally had a 6.2, but it now has a 6.5
