Default Possible cause for Cummins locked engine

OK I purchased a 2001 Dodge 1ton 6 spd. , kind of an impulse buy, anyhow the seller said he thinks the engine spun a main bearing. But doesn't know for sure. I went ahead and purchased truck to try and repair. I want to get rid of my Dmax and thought this would be a good replacement. has some damage on the bed and the corner of the cab. He supplied the parts to repair the cab as well, and the price was hard to pass up.
I just wanted to get a ideal on where to start diagnosing the problem. When I get it home I'll install some fresh batteries and see if it will turn over, if not I'll check and see if will turn in the opposite direction manually. He said it was idling with good oil pressure over 60 psi when it slowly died and wouldn't turn over. This is my first Cummins to deal with and was hoping for some guidance. Have Cummins ever have problems with injectors like the Dmax leaking fuel into the cylinder locking the engine? It has over 200,000 miles but appears to have been maintained, has log of filter and oil changes. I'm prepared to pull the engine if required. Also I forgot to mention it has the dreaded 53 block. I inspected the area where the cracks usually develop and it appears to be free of any coolant leakage and the radiator was full, although there was a little bit of oil buildup around the area of the casting 53 is but probably where oil was spilled changing the oil filter. now after I gave it some thought when I inspected the oil it was really clean. I hope he didn't change the oil and filter and forget to put oil in.

Any help appreciated.

Probably drained the oil, ran it till it quit, then dumped the new oil in.

well i had the same thing happen. the number 3 injector stuck open and filled the cyl full of diesel.(hydrolocked) i had to pull the injectors one by one to figure it out. i pulled 8 oz of diesel out of the hole. guve it a little oil to help lube it while i gave it a try and it started again. injectors are alot cheper than alot of things. and this should only takee about an hour to check if you havnt done it before.

when this happened on the freeway to me, it made all kind of noise before i could pull over and stop. also are there any codes thrown?
let us know.
