so i cleaned the terminals today they had a bunch of corrosion and i noticed that the batteries have cracks right by the negative terminal on both so im hopeing this might be my problem. the batteries do seem low, every time i start my truck it feels like the batteries are struggling to crack it over. i also had to jump start it a couple days ago. will take off the batteries and take them so pep boys and see what they say. what are the batteries suppose to read when checking them with a volt meter?

As with ALL batteries, you cannot just check them with a meter - you have to run them through a load to tell if they are good or not.

Glad it was the 'simple' fix! Sorry it wasn't as cheap as just cleaning them up!

The reason this affected your truck so is that the computer needs a set voltage to operate correctly. Give it the wrong voltage and all kinds of strange things will happen. There is no way to predict what will occur. Ever heard a music CD 'freak out' from scratches? Kind of the same idea.... There is no way to know what will happen except that it will be very strange and highly unpredictable!!

Way to call it 'BOMBERS'!!
