Default 04 ford 6 liter trouble

I have an 04' f-250 6 liter. In the past two days this has been my problem. While driving, the truck lost all power and would only idle. After a few minutes i would regain throttle and was able to get home. I pulled and cleaned a rather nasty egr valve after this haooened the first time but it did it agaih the next time i drove. I again pulled the EGR valve to make sure everything was clean. then the truck ran for abot 5 min before the same problem came up. I shut the truck down then it wouldn't restart for about a half hour.

If anyone can help with this problem i would appreciate it.

thanks

Check codes first, Check fuel pressure at the top fuel filter.

Not to sound like an overachiever but I do my fiters every oil change. PSD are too finicky to push oil or fuel limits.

changed the filters and still having same problem. was told that the FICM may have gone bad or maybe injector pump not working right. This would be the second FICM in the last 3 years. I do thank everyone for their suggestions. i'll post when i find out the problem for sure.

no service engine or any other lights came on. two years ago i has a similar problem and no codes showed up that time as well. The dealer was a bit baffled by that.

Well, problem is now solved. It was a bad freakin' FICM. The worst part is that this is the second one in the past 18 months. Of course there was only a 12 month warranty on the thing.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and stuff.
