Default Loud Whistling Noise

Dont know if anyone will know this one, but on my 01 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Diesel Automatic I seem to have a noise that I cant find where it is coming from. It does it all the time. Coming from the left side of the truck. Its a loud whistle, does not sound like any metal grinding though. I dont know if it is a pulley. The sound only happens when I hit the gas and stay on it. I can really hear it loud when driving next to a concrete barrier. Is it possible for the lift pump to squeal loud like that? anyone ever come across this?

Sounds like a boost leak to me. Check the lower boot at the inter cooler on the drivers side.
They tend to rub through.

not necesarily if the truck is still running the way it has been then ther will be no codes but if the diagnostics sees something wrong then it will throw a code

well i do know the 24v will let you know when there is low boost. with the vacuum leak you will usually notice the climate controls and stuff with vacuum will start to go haywire first. i dont know if the 24v is the same as the 12v but in our trucks the hyrdo booster for the breaks are vacuum assisted and the 4x4 hubs are vacuum operated as well as the climate controle

if there is a greater amount of smoke i would shoot torads the boost leak issue then i know on here there is a thing you can build to test your boots but forgot were it is located. do you have a boost guage on your truck
