trucks down

stop leak only works for the coolant
---AutoMerged DoublePost---
i let the truck sit all night last night and drained the oil and thjere wasnt a drop of water in it asuming water sinks like gear oil does, if it were a cracked head wouldnt there be water in the oil as well. im going to flush the entire sistem tonight and see if it stops putting oil into the system. if not im going to swap the oil cooler i removed for a new one that i have, if thats not the problem im assuming its a cracked head

well im getting the old and the newer oil cooler pressure tested tomarryow since its still doing this. if the newer oil cooler doesnt cut it im guessing it could be a bracked head. not to worry though i would rather get a new head since the one i found was from our local diesel performance shop that is already o-ringed, intake and exhaust 60lb springs and wxhuast porting. so if it is a cracked head after all then im happy

Theres 1 good thing about having problems with your truck - if you ever have to fix something like this again - it will be a breeze.

broke my intake plate today, the 94 plate is to wide for the 96 head there is a threaded insert there that holds my intake temp sender that was hitting on the edge, and it split the entire plate, well i gess that gives my an excuse to build my twin ram intake

its the oil cooler my freightliner did the same thng its a cat but the same idea the oilcooler fails and you get skude in the coolant the head gasket fails you get coolant n the oil smple as that my suggestion s take it to the local cummins guys have them fix it you got to flush the raiator and the entire coolant system thats not fun to do

Cascade for your dishwasher works really well flushing out the coolant system that had been contaminated with oil
just pour it in, fill with water, run the engine, drain, fill water, run drain, fill with antifreeze and drive it like you stole it.
