well ive been workin on the truck. bleed the fuel lines again. got the truck started. it started to cut out again so i idle it right down at seemd ok and i let it roll into the garage. i pulled the suction line off the tank to see if it was leaking fvrom there and it still died on me so i know it aint that.
the knock was the torqe converter bolts backed out so i put lock tite on them

it was the draw straw in the tank casing the dieing. that is fixed.
new problem
it will run without dieing. now it is cutting out real bad at higher rpm's. it will blow black smoke till it starts to cut out then it is blue smoke. im not an ace mechanic as yall might have noticed. but im thinking it might be the turbo. i pulled the intake tube off and the shaft had some play in it. more than my buddies 01. there was no oil on that side of the turbo. my thinking is that it is putting the oil out the exhaust side of the turbo causing the blue smoke. the excessive black smoke is from the turbo not putting out enough air for it to keep up with the fuel. it blows a ton of smoke by the way while sitting still. when i try to drive it it puffs black smoke then starts the cutting out and blue smoke.
what do yall think

no i dont think the turbo would cause the whole truck to cut out, that seems like a fuel supply issue...i bet ya it starts cuttin out at like 13-1400 rpm til like 20-2200 rpms?? I think you need to check that airdog to make sure it hasnt sucked anything into it from the tank

im pretty sure it aint a loose boot or it would have blown it all the way off. a hole in an intercooler boot should make a whistleing noise or it has in my expeirence in otr trucks.
it starts cutting out right away when you try to get on it. when sitting still it starts cutting out at different times but usualy above 1700 plus.
