hard to start, runs rough, sputters and pops. stalls (both at idle and while moving), this is a friends truck, i have the same truck but in 2 wheel drive, mine runs like a dream.
what weve done so far.
has good pmd(checked on my truck) but... her heat sink is grounded to the ops wire, which is not attached to the ip , where it is supposed to be(and the pmd has been relocated). so we are gonna put it back to where it goes on my next day off.
newer IP, new fuel shut off solenoid, new LP. truck does run better with the IP replaced, but that is when it started sputtering and popping and stalling, sounds like popcorn in the engine. also the AC condenser is cycling repeatedly with the air being turned off. yes there is black smoke intermittently that co-insides with the pops and sputters.
truck had a lot of codes but we reset the comp after the IP install, how long is the drive cycle for this truck? we've gone somewhere around 50 miles with no codes yet.

long and slow pulses
something to do with the brakes
fuel shutoff solenoid
note. her truck wont start with my pmd cause of the ground wire issue
the truck is super hard to start, her poor starter is working its *** off.

anybody has any ideas it sure would help. also, the crossover pipe is bad, that will mess up the compression in the turbo right? also has exhaust leaks and needs new gaskets under the truck.
i would really like to know how long the drive cycle till the comp will start throwing codes is, boy would i like to see some codes. there were more but my list is in the truck and its cold out there right now, .
