Default cummins, new batteries, dont run right?

my 01 cummins ran perfect and had all the power i wanted, but i had weak batteries and they got weaker and weaker, then when we got into negative weather, they died. sat a week, then i got new batteries as i was rebuilding her anyways, i hooked up evrything the way i took it apart, good clean connections. it starts strong and idles all day, but when i take her up to 2k it stutters like i aint gettin fuel and my edge juice doesnt have any display or power. i have boost. if truck is off and key is in accessory position the edge works and reades the ambient temp, even if the truck is warmed up. when i drive it around after the thermostat opened up and runnin temp, the edge will flicker? i get a couple codes with the key on/off toggle trick. 1693, 0236, 1689, 0238, 0253, im honestly lost when it come to this kind of electrical, any help would be great, thanks

Which are PCM and which are ECM codes? The P1693 is normally the PCM code meaning there are codes on the computer. P0236 MAP sensor too high (no clue what that means ). P1689 is the VP44 injection pump death code. P0238 MAP sensor volts too high. P0253 FUEL INJECTION PUMP FUEL VALVE OPEN CIRCUIT

Sounds like compounded issues or coincidence. Chances are the edge has a bad ground which could cause some issues such as map, i would look at the edge connections really well before diagnosing any further. You should have hardly any voltage drop on the ground circuit with the edge on.

i went down to autozone today to see if they could use the scanner and see if i was readin the correct codes and the scanner wouldnt even read my truck. it said it wasnt recieving power? but i checked all my plugs and connections and evrything is good. if my vp44 was throwin the death code would my truck still run up to 2000 rpm with just the lift pump? i also cant find a wiring diagram for the edge to make sure its hooked up all correctly because i have 2 wires that have been unplugeed since i got this truck and still ran fine but just curiouse now.

Seems funny all of this started when you put in new batteries, are you sure you hooked everything up right, and didn't leave a ground off or somthing

If the edge is shorted its connection to the data link it can shut down vehicle communication. It would be more likely your cigarette lighter fuse is blown.

Mine works fine till it hits 1500rpms then dead pedal under load. I hope yours is something simple, because I agree, is odd that it all started after a battery change.

Thanks for all the help guys, I've been messin around with it and I drove it probably 30 miles since this problem and now this mornin I went to start it, started for bout 3 seconds then died and won't start. I'm starting to think my injection pump is shot, Ill look at it today but if I replace it is there any tips on installing a pump? Do I need any special tools?
