Default Ford 6.0 start up issue

I have a 06 power stroke, I've been away for two weeks, came home to start my truck and the batteries were dead. So I trickle charged it for 24 hours and went to start it and it was turning over but wouldn't fire turned the key to the off position and it just kept turning over. The temperature has been in the negatives for the past three weeks and my truck has only been started a few times in the last four to five months. The reason i went to start it was because i need to drive it for the next few weeks for work. The only thing I have done was disconnect the battery and now I am just trickle charging one of the batteries. I don't know where to start thank you for helping out

Ok so I figured it out, I tapped my cylinoid above the starter and it stopped trying to start when I wasn't turning it over, but I started to head to work and I got ten feet and I couldn't turn or brake. Could this be a cause of it sitting for six to seven months. Please I need a reply I can't take anymore work off, one more question, should I replace my cylinoid on my starter since it was sticking, and is there away to check it. Thank you.

check the power steering resivoir for fluid, the PS is your brake booster too. Check to make sure the belt is even turning to make sure something hasn't frozen up. If you let the truck sit that much then it might be a good idea t get one of those solar chargers to keep it trickle charged
