well then what can i do with my tranny to hold up to sum serious power? i kno the guy that has the truck now got it with 20000 miles and b4 he hooked on any trailer took the truck to a tranny shop and he said they took all the plastice pieces out of the trany and repalced them with metal peices and it was like a 2200 dollar bill for it. but is there anything else i can do to make ithold up? im not looking for crazy power for truck pulls or anything just looking to wake the motor up and get it to blow sum black when i get on it. it will pull a cattel traler and a 30' gooseneck trailer with a mud truck on it once in a while but thats about it and im kinda thinkng 5" stacks

Not quite sure where he got the "plastic" pieces bit but that's not what a built tranny is. Beefier clutches, modified valve body, increased line pressure, custom built torque converter, and retuned TCM are the main ingredients of a built tranny that will cost you from $5500 to $8000 depending on your intended use.

yea i really didnt understand y thehell a tranny would have plastic in it and how even if it did how u would get a 2200 dollar bill for replaceing it. he said he would put the truck up against any manual. and i test drove it and it seamed to b fine. the heavyest load he said he had behind the truck was 6000 pounds. idk like isaid im not out for insane power just enough to get smoke out of it and it wont b pulling an ureal amount either as far as i can see right now

well I am not running to much but I would say atleast put a tc and valve body in it a lot of shops if you call and tell what you plan on running power wise and what you do with it can get you going I went through goerend and would say he really knows his stuff.
