Default EGT PROBE...TUNER...HELP!

good morning all, i have a question regarding an EGT probe. I'm about to start modifying my '06 6.0 and i'm starting with the intake and exhaust. i want to run an EGT gauge and am confused as to where to put the probe. some say to drill the manifold, others say to place it on the downpipe of the exhaust...which is correct? also which is the best tuner/module to use on the F250 6.0? i was thinking the Banks 6-gun, but i've heard the SCT is the best possible one...just not sure which SCT to use, i've seen many. any help would be greatly appreciated!

i have a banks 6gun/speedloader in my o4 and i like it alot, have had no problems with it. as for the egt probe i drilled and tapped the manifold on the drivers side toward the rear. i would think that the probe being after the turbo would be pointless as the temp would be cooler than in the manifold. if its too hot after the turbo, then it's probly way too hot at the manifold.

Definitely put it on the manifold. The online downside to it is some people say they break off and go through the turbo, although I've never known anyone that has had it happen. That gives you a much better number on the EGT. If you put it in the downpipe you kinda have to guess how much hotter it is pre turbo.

Install it in the Manifold on the Drivers Side.
