Hello everyone, first of all I want to say thank you for making this very informative web site for people like me. Please can some one help! I've had everything done that we can think of to my pick up. But I still can't seem to find why it is shutting off while on the road. I put the truck in the shop to get the fuel injector pump replaced. That's what the mechanic said it needed. Not long after I also had to replace the electric fuel pump. Because it started up again. (Shutting off) I can be driving down a hwy or just down the drive way and the truck turns off. Sometimes it will start right up then lately it takes a little while before it start, I bleed the gas line to let out any air but some times it's like no air and sometimes there is no gas leaking from the bleeder valve. What else could it be PLEASE HELP ANY SUGGESTIONS?

did you have a new PMD (Pump Mounted Driver) installed, i've seen people replace their pumps because their PMDs shut down...

Dad has a 96 2500 Suburban and he had this problem, and before you install a PMD, get a PMD relocation kit...

This is the 6.5's most common and most frustrating problem...

 

I to had that same prob for about two years, after braking the bank it was all do to a bad pmd, I actually have one for sale with the cooling plate and longer wire harness if ur interested pm me
