Default 1998 z71 6.5

Hello I am new to the diesel world,I have a friend trying to sell me a 1998 6.5 it has 330,000 miles ,Should i expect the engine to die soon? it has been maintained, oil changes, injection pump, etc.I hear conflicting info some people tell me it still has alot of life, others tell me not to touch it with a 10 foot pole any advice?

Most likely it doesn't have a lot of life it has over 300k on it and no mater what truck it is thats a lot of miles. This doesn't mean it will die soon but at some point it will. I have personally had 6.5's go well over 300k and have one right now that we still drive with over 500k on it. It all kind of depends on how much you need something to drive and the price of the truck. If he wants a low price for it and every thing checks out as good and you just need something to drive you might consider it. I wouldn't be willing to dump a lot in a truck with 300k on it no matter what it was.

I would first check the WIF sensor wiring, then change out some fuel for sure..
