Default i need ideas

im lookin at buyin a 03 duramax with a 6speed manual. the guy said that oil leaks on top of the motor. the injectors were replaced about 40k miles ago and i assume that the leak started soon after. i was thinking that the valve cover gasket is leaking or something like that.. i was also thinking a turbo oil line or intake manifold gasket or something. just wantin some ideas if anyone could help out! i'd appreciate it!!!!

im not a duramax guy so i cant tell you whats wrong with it but i do know about buying a truck. if the truck had no problems id say buy it in a heart beat, manuals are the ****. i have a buddy who got an 03 6.0 PSD for $3700. it wasnt even worth that. hes had nothing but problems with it, had to get a new turbo, head gaskets and injectors right after he bought it. now its back in the shop getting fixed cuz the PCM crapped out on him or some thing with the computer. dont buy a truck if you KNOW it has problems, wait it out for a truck you know youre gettting a good deal on, i waited for 2 years for my PSD i dont recommend that long of a wait but you can stick it out

Could also be bad headgaskets... I'd have him fix the leak then buy it depending on how much he wants. Good luck!

just to add to what he said, it depends greatly on where you see oil, if he's not willing to fix the prob before he sells it, get in there with a water hose and clean it out really well, then towel it off and fire it up, the water will evaporate and you will be able to track down your leak. If its on top of the eng, it could be a number of things, head gasket, turbo lines, dont know if the LB7 has a PCV but if it does then it could be leaking there. but like it was said above, if it is a killer deal that you would be a fool for passing up then carefully examin it and then if it looks good, dive on it. but i would do everything i could to find out what the heck is leaking before the final decision is made. and hey maybe you can get the price to go down further depending on whats leaking and how much it will cost to fix.

It would be nice to have a Dmax with a 6 speed

But there are others out there if this isnt a good deal.
