I was not intending to brand bash either, I was simply trying to make the point that when I hear the dmax is an Isuzu motor it si usually from a Cummins or powerstroke owner, and I think they are all good trucks, just small things that make me a GM person and another a Dodge or Ford.

The thing is, is that manufactures are getting smart, they know that people want to do preformance mods and not just looks so they are programming the trucks right out of the box to not except programs very well. GM especially is getting smart with this by running two ecms on prototype vehicles to see if they can void an engine programmer out. The reason why they do this is because it costs them money because people try to fudge a warrenty. To me if you modify prefromance wise get ready to pay the price for what you have done. If you want your warrenty but more power then you are gonna have to pick your battle and choose one. I havent heard anything from Crysler or Ford about any new 2010 developments but all the manufactures are cracking down the same way.

E2theRock2...
do you know if GM is coming out with a 4500 chassis like Dodge Ram's 4500? What sort of torque do you think the new 2010 engine will put out?

thanks

E2.... you're the only one who has been able to somewhat authenticate anything regarding GM's 2010 future engine. When do you think that GM will start officially talking about this engine?new truck? Knowing that GM will have a 4.5L for their 1500 series truck there is no doubt that GM has to push the spec for their 3500 series trucks beyond 2009's specs.

rumer has it though there going to redesign the cummins to.. And it is very possible to get high horsepower out of the EPA diesel's, now that they have figured out the systems they know what there doing.

Regardless, no matter what engine its on, the new EPA equipment limits HP numbers, sure, they'll find ways to deal with it, but its not adding HP by any means.

I agree with you that it dont help the HP but lets face it 425hp and 700 plus or torque how much do we really need?? My LB7 has alot of get up and that would just be insaine to have that much HP in a truck form the factory.
