The new '09 F150 is claiming 29mpg.... I'll believe that when I see it. If the gasser gets 29, I doubt the diesel can top that by very much. That's over 16% better than any of the previous F150's I've seen. Not sure if that was the V6 or V8 though...TV made it sound like the V8.

Just a little trivia directly off the Detroit Diesel History webpage:
"The Detroit Diesel history began in 1938, just as World War II was heating up. That year, General Motors formed the GM Diesel Division — the ancestor to Detroit Diesel."

Yup. GM just asked for like $8 or 9 billion to make it through this next month.so the production on almost everything new is at a stand still. My dad has been following this story like crazy cause he is thinkin about buyin a 2008-9 2500HD duramax. He said that Pontiac and Saturn are going to be gone. Hyundai and Suzuki may end up trying to buy Cadillac. And if nobody buys HUMMER or if they don't get their sales up they could be gone in 2010. Hopefully it doesn't completely crush cause i want the rest of my warrenty on my truck.
