When should a guy look into getting a set?

yeah I saw that a while back. There's another product I was thinking about but can't remember the specifics of it. I hate brain farts.

 

There are companies that make headers for the 6.6 Duramax , here is a link to one that makes them or at least offers themDuramax Headers and Up Pipes - Diesel Place

 

There has been a big issue with the longevity with dmax headers, they dont seem to last as long as planned. some crack and headers aren't really needed. but they do some work.


These rttoys can fill u in on them, or u can read that thread. Russel has been testing them extensively as long with many other people. Russel was mostly the control for the experiment cause his truck was bone stock for tests and had the full header and up piped replaced with the TxC log manifolds. His results were good from the dyno and on the street with the boost gauge fun video. He still has the stock turbo back exhaust still IIRC. He runs a super chips and needs his rig to be reliable and quiet for DD and weekend towing. Really a good product i must say it really improves the turbo response.

But im a wait a lil bit longer before i pick some up

I have that bd manifold right now, for piece of mine and i was too lazy to tap my manifold.

 

ATS is supposed to be coming out w/a set of cast manifolds and up pipes for the Duramax. I have heard the pricing will be similar to the TXC Log Headers.

 

i seen those in the DP mag, they look kinda "kinky" to me

 

There are some people on this site who are testing some hearders & Up-pipe as we speak. I saw the dyno results and they look real promising. They should chime in at some point.
