NOX Sensor 1 end cap stuck
Anybody dealt with this issue before? When I removed the NOX Sensor 1 (front) from the manifold, the sensor silver end cap did not come out even though the sensor itself did.
This sensor is at the far back end of the engine and difficult to get to. Suspect the cap is rusted in place. Anybody see this before? Any suggestions on how to get it out?
- Sprayed a couple times with rust blaster but have not been able to budge it using a pick.
- Maybe drill a hole in the cap, screw a screw or screw extractor in it and try to pull out? Again hard to get to.
- What about just knocking the cap into the exhaust system? Any major issues in doing that?
This is on a 2015 GMC 2500 Denali Duramax 6.6
