Default map sensor removal: can't get the socket on it

trying to replace my map sensor in my 99. found it pulled the wiring connector and can't get my 1 1/16 socket over the big plastic piece before the nut what do i do?

There's two different sensors down there that look similar, ya sure your hittin the right one. And ya it has to be a deepwell.

i got the deep well socket and i'm pretty sure its the map sensor seems to be the only one down there. it is a three prong plug in type thing driver side around by the fuel filter under a golden clip on the side of the motor.... i'm hoppin i'm right cuz some of the plastic is busted off it so it needs replaced anyways...but on it there is a black ring right before the part that the socket can grip...the socket won't fit over the dang plastic piece more than maybe a eighth of an inch..

Might sound crazy but i took i deep well and cut it inhalf and welded a 1" long piece of pipe between the two and now it fits over it plenty far.
Just my way of making a deep deep well.
