Are the upper ball joints permenently connected to the Control arms? I dont think they are but i cant look at my truck to tell (i would do it myself if i was home). I want to get the ball joints replaced before i get home but i think the shop i use is filling me full of crap. this is what they said. The upper ball joints are attached to control arms and you cannot just replace the ball joints you have to do the control arms too. so, the cost for both upper and lower including the control arms on the upper is about $1075

 

Bunch of crap. The upper ball joint is a press fit, MOOG part # K6696 $45.

 

thats what i thought. i guess im just goin to wait till i get home to do it sense you cant trust anyone now days

 

Haven't done the ones on the d-max yet, but in the old days, put the ball joints in the freezer overnight, got to the zone and get the ball joint press, and get after it. It is a lot easier to use the press from the zone than to heat and beat.
