service 4wd
this morning i started my truck to warm it up and when i got in after 20ish min i went out to go leave and on the message center it said "service 4wd". so i called the guy at the dealer that does all the factory work on my truck and he said to bring it in right away cuz there is something major wrong... but idk i dont think there is anything wrong... the 4wd engages and disengages just fine and it works fine...

I was looking for the thread I started about it.

The ground is located on the body mount support underneath the truck, outside of the frame, driver's side, basically just below where you put your left foot when driving.

Mine did the same thing when it was about 2 years old. Took it to the dealership and they removed the frame ground, scraped/ground the connection point to the frame and reinstalled it. The tech said he had seen this before. The only code it throws is a communication failure in the can system. Unless they are plugged into it while it has the message or when it throws the code, there is no way to know which can system is the issue. Mine did it twice in the past 5 years, neither time could I duplicate the message, and neither time did it affect the 4wd system.
