i heard toyo open county AT's wear likeiron, my new truck has 35x14.50x16, and the guy says they are wearing 10x better then the toyo MT's
i had the new Wrangler MT/R-K's (35x12.50x15) on my Jeep (rip) and they barely wore at all... mind you i only had them 10000 kms before the jeep got stolen, but they tore up the mud, stuck like glue to the rocks, very quiet, seemed to be wearing slowlyand evenly.
i know its a different beast on a truck... but i would be willing to give them a shot... as i will be most likey be getting rid of the 14.5's

i had the coopers on a 3/4 chevy gaser n i had 30k on them n still had half left.rotated every 6k miles.i think they sucked on snow coverd roads.i hated themthey work ok offroad.i had a set of BFG's AT KO's.i liked them alot better on the road in the snow.i got about 56k out of them.i tried the coopers cuz they were cheaper.if i didnt live by snow i would buy the coopers.

Sounds like a rotate and balance and possibly an alignment are in order for your friend depending on how uneven the wear is.

I had BFG's on my gasser silverado and they seemed to last forever, but they were rough riding... They eventually cupped bad, but then again, i might rotate every 10k or 15k miles (not good)... I put Mudd Dogs on most recently and they wore super fast and cupped like the first few thousand miles... Won't buy them again!
BFG's prolly buy again...
Mudd Dogs nope, won't buy again
Never tried Coopers maybe i'll try em next...

I used to run Bridgstone Dueler A/T's. Rotated every 4,000 - 5,000 miles. Would wear out every 30,000 to 36,000 miles. Junk.
Now, for the first time, I have bought Michelin LTX M/S's LT265 75 R16's. Only have 6,000 miles on them for now.
COMPLETELY different truck with these tires on.
Will get some Michelin's for the Tahoe when the time comes.
I will go with Michelin's and never look back for now on.
Someone has said that Hankook Dynapro RF10's are good tires. They say they wear well and balance well.
