Hey thanks for putting this up here. i've been looking for something for WEEKS on how to do this, so you've helped me out a lot. hopefully it saves me a headache or two. and you need to edit the beer part. there's supposed to be a lot more of those steps in there.

Hey 2500Heavy Duty thanks for your write-up on the water pump; it's the only thing that got me to where I am now, trying to actually pull the pump off.
I've got all 3 screws out except the top (small) one, I can't, or don't dare move that black pipe that's in the way for fear I'll screw up it's fit into the Thermostat housing.
Can I force that little pipe and or do I have to replace the housing like the manual says?
Ohhhhh, I'd love some pointers about now!!

Had the same here and doing a water pump on a max is NO FUN! Get ready for a few hours of work

No you do not have to replace the housing I did this same project it will move enough the part that sucks is you gotta pull the balancer to get to the last water pump bolt requires a 32 mm socket i believe to remove the balancer bolt ant it is TIGHT!!!
