guess what just happened to my truck this past week...

another bad injector!

#7 injector solenoid shorted to ground shutting off a bank of four injectors and putting it into limp mode.

found some used injectors on ebay, purchased, swapped solenoid while the injector was still in the engine to eliminate having to remove the lower valve cover, return line, etc. got it all back together this saturday and it starts and runs great now.

 

I wish mine was fixed so easily I'm still waiting on that used ECM to get here

 

update ITS ALIVE well kinda it will fire right up half a spin but runs like crap and black smokes crazy the throatal read voltage change but the rpm don't change aka when you hit the fuel nothing happens just runs like crap

 

Well, better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick @ this point ... ( No pun intended about the point... LOL) ..

 

he's going to scan it more tomorrow but as of today it's missing and skipping pouring black smoke like a cummins with a trash bag over the intake and it won't do anything but idle

 

Yeah, Progress can be a real pain when your in a hurry .... or just impatient

 

I talked to tech working on her today he said he thinks the issue is with programming he's going to reflash the ECM he said if that don't work they may have sent him a ECM from a gas truck and that's why it's running like crap is it can't send the right signals so hopefully she'll be Rollin soon

well he re flashed no fix confirmed it's a ECM for a lb7 so looks like the next step is ficm idk yet

 

Maybe you can find one of those used too ???
