Default New here. Could use a little input.

Hi guys I am looking at buying my first diesel, wanted one since I could drive and now I have the chance. Found an 03 Silverado 2500HD 6.6 turbo 94,000 KM. 6 inch lift running 37s Bully Dog Thunderkit. Always stored in heated garage, meticulous maintenance. I think im getting it for a good price, but what I would like some input on is the engine and tranny. Have there been any major issues with this year duramax or allisons? Anything I should look for when I go see this truck? thanks in advance.

uhm ok....

so you could ask the guy if the injectors have been replaced on the truck, that is really the only problem with them.

I know I am never one to buy my toys, I always build them up myself. I am getting a really good deal on the truck because the guy is having financial issues. I wanted to buy stock and do all the work myself but I cant find stock ones with low miles for what I am paying for this truck. Also it is owned by an older guy who bought it new and it was his show truck. He didnt program for high horsepower and spend every weekend at the strip and it has never towed anything. By the sounds of it, it has been babied its whole life. Pretty sure I am going to buy it, was just curious if there was any major things I should look for. Thanks for the reply.

Just see if the injectors have been replaced because the factory ones leak after a while.... Also see if the trans is slipping, or been limped before.

Agreed again on the injectors. Mine was babied too got it three years ago and it only had 62,000 on it by the time I rolled 72,000 on it I had to replace the injectors. Not cheap. But has been a good truck since.
