Can a cracked Manifold be welded?

 

It metal?

 

Not sure.. it's the manifold on my 98 Suburban 6.5.. the after market ones are on back order for at least a month, and the dealer wants $600+ before taxes...

Which manifold is it the intake or exhaust? Ether way you can weld it or have it welded. If its the intake its aluminum and the biggest trick is getting the dirt out of it. If its the exhaust its cast iron and has to be pre-heated before welding.

 

You be better fine one in junk yard i have try haven them weld it just last

 

It's the exhaust.. I checked all the junk yards..no such luck..any ideas where I could get a new or used one.

 

Where are you at i have a motor,trans and case out of a 96 burb. It have about 130 mile on it. The person was scraping it because it had blow by so they gave it to me. I will sell you one cheap plus shipping
