Default trans problem

i have a 95 6.5l td with a 4l80e trans i went to go to work this morning and my truck wont come out of 3rd gear so i manually shifted down to first and it dosent want to move any suggestions

not going into overdrive sometimes indicates problems in the electronics but not wanting to move at all can be more serious problems have codes ran on it and see if it's possibly just electronics or you need a rebuild the tranny shop should be able to get you the best answer.

i might of not worded this right when i left my driveway it was in drive but it didnt start in first it took off in 3rd but when i manually put it in first it take like a 1/4 pedal to make it move

thanks guys i found the problem it was the valve soleniod's i took them out but i was wondering if their was better soleniod's than stock that i could buy any suggestions

go online to bowtie i am not sure how to put sights on here but i thinkg it's bowtie.com they have a lot of performance parts

I had some tranny trouble a while back and it was a solenoid as well, Is that a common problem?

yes solenoid problems in these trannies are common the electronics fry alot in 4l80e transmissions but they are still good transmissions as i said before have a shop check it if you can

Hey guys,
Was reading this post and was wondering if is what is wrong with my 93 Dodge Diesel 4x4Was shifting into 3rd and felt amost spongy. Totally locked up! Would not move at all. Was wondering if anyone had a diagram of the rag transmission? Thanks! APRIL

you would be better to go to the dodge section and ask alot of guys on there could help you out
