Strange Vibration noise when 6.5 is at Idle or A/C is on.

Default Strange Vibration noise when 6.5 is at Idle or A/C is on.

Hey guys...I am new to the 6.5 world. Just bought a nice 1995 with 185k Orig. miles on her. I am experiencing a strange vibration noise when ever the truck is at idle, either in gear or in park. Sometimes the noise will start when you turn on the A/C and go away when you turn off the A/C. Sometimes it is just always there until you give it the slightest little bit of throttle. When slowing down to a stop and letting off the gas pedal when the truck reaches idle it starts. As soon as you start to move, the noise is gone. Can't pin point it exactly. Any little bit of help is appreciated. Thanks.

Look at your idler pulley.

That along with the belt have just been replaced. I have been doing research....I am thinking maybe the HB...I am going to check it in the morning. Has anyone replaced a harmonic balancer? Tough? Thanks

pull the belt off start it when cold still have it

I have say X2 rednackpipliner said it has to be one of the puleys

I had this problem with my 93 6.5 and what I found out was that someone had been lazy and didn't put the big support bracket back on the back of the Alternator. When it came down to an idle the alternator was vibrating. So check to see if that might be missing or maybe loose bolts on it. Or might even be missing bolts.

Check your Harmonic Balancer they are known to go bad and it will gave you vibrating and it could break the crank

just replaced my hb and it is not hard to do, but check the pully in front of hb that is what was bad on mine, it has a rubber center and it was broke all the way around
