6.5 90,00 miles on crate engine from GM . engine started blowing very heavey black smoke going up hill ,peddal to the floor 70 mph.did this on second hill about 2 minutes later then it started a tapping noise. had it towed home . could you give me an idea what it may sound like happened to you? Engine still starts and runs ,only drove it about 2miles, but it still has that tapping noise in it.

Sounds like a possible bad injector, had this happen to me. Easiest way to tell is to crack one injector line at a time, if you hear the knocking go away you found the issue. If not I would suspect something else internal.

have not cracked the lines lines as of yet but hopefully i will get that done today and post my findings .
