Don't know what happened to the short novel I wrote (maybe I'm not patient enough)(stupid mobile phone...shoulda just went to the comp from the start...grrr)...so here goes...

I found a 30/40A 5 spade standard relay at O'Reilly's part #2ER4 (I just blanked off the fifth spade). I decided against the pre-made base to save $20 and just use shielded connectors. I mounted it on a 6mm grounding bolt just left of center on the firewall. I used 14ga wire (what is the minimum here for others reference) and color coded it with e-tape. I couldn't find colored wire anywhere...not at the shops, the local auto elec guy, not even at radio schmucks or even fry's!! screw it...e-tape. I did find some bare butt splices at the Shack (this was a good find as it was a good mix in one bag) and used heat shrink tubes to seal it all up. I replaced the OPS with yet another warranty replacement from NAPA. If/when this one fails...ACDelco it will get. The old OPS read 60-70 psi when installed new but on my trip it dropped to 40-50 prompting me to look under the hood at the new fuel pressure gauge I installed recently. zero. ugh...how long had I been driving this way...The new one reads 35-45 but everything is running like it is supposed to after the mod. Thanks for the help!

PS - As a side note, the fuel press gauge that I bought was a cheap stop gap measure. It was inexpensive, small, available now at Auto Zone (kudos for being a place I don't really like but coming up with something that I needed that no one else had)....and is doing the job for the time being until I can afford to get a good one after the vehicular homicide of my wallet this year

Where did you put the fuel pressure gauge?Between the filter and IP I hope.

Also if you did the OPS relay mod you will likely have to change the OPS for improper gauge function before you ever have to change it for LP operation.
The relay takes all the strain off the OPS as far as the LP goes.
