Default Lift pump problems

I have an 06 Cummins and am wondering if my lift pump has to be replaced. I lost all fuel pressure after a recent trip but was still able to drive it 30 miles home. The fuel pressure will go up to 6-7 psi (which was normal for my truck) when u turn the key on an will hold pressure and u can hear the pump run for about 20 seconds. But as soon as u start it the pressure drops to 0 an the pump won't run anymore. Any help would b appreciated
